Switching to a Plant Based Diet


Switching to a plant-based diet does not mean replacing animal product with junk. Swapping out meat for white bread, pasta and other packaged foods set you up for failure. it's not advisable to trade in animal products, which contains protein, vitamins and minerals, for processed food that provide little nutritional value other than calories. The Result from such a swap would be hunger, weight gain, and a grumpier mood.

Being a vegetarian is differently more of a lifestyle choice and a philosophy than a diet. Be wise about the choice you make, as every choice can be a net profit or loss.

Foods which come directly from nature are full of life rather than meat or factory made product. A diet based on fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds has gained tremendous popularity and is at an all time high. The reason behind this shift may vary from one individual to another but a common reason is Corona Virus. Here's few more reason to list:

Vegetarians often have low rates of obesity, and on average weigh 5 to 20 percent less than meat eaters. Going on a plant-based diet is the healthy way to keep the excess fat off for good while leaving you with plenty of energy.

According the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, vegetarian are less likely to develop heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or high blood pressure than meat-eaters are. Well-planned plant-based diets are rich in protein, iron, calcium, and other essential vitamins and minerals. We are tend to eat veg food not meat and nature has blessed us with many foods which are medicine in nature. Meats may be good for your physic but may not be good to cure your body as plants does.

By switching to plant based diet you could save more than 100 animals a year. Eating meat doesn't just hurt animals, it hurts people, too. It takes nearly 30 kg of grain to produce just 01 kg of animal flesh! All that plant food could be used much more efficiently to directly feed the people.

Getting Started on a plant-based diet is not as difficult as you might think. Each week increase the number of meatless meals you already enjoy. Take favorite recipes and try them without meat. For example, use nutri nuggets rather than chicken, use stuffed veggie chapati rather than omelet, use paneer tikka rather than beef. You may be surprised to find that many dishes require only simple substitutions. The more variety you bring to your vegetarian diet, the more likely you'll be to meet all your nutritional needs. So, learn to substitute, branch out the varieties and ramp up to getting started with vegetarian diet.
